El Cardonal at Diamante
When it comes to golf, few names hold as much weight in history as Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus. While both of these golf legends have made their mark in Los Cabos, it’s Woods’ architectural debut that has garnered the most attention. The Diamante El Cardonal course, designed by Woods, is a challenging 7,363-yard course that takes players through dunes, desert, and arroyos. The course was designed to evoke feelings of the “old California” courses that Woods grew up playing on, and it certainly delivers.
Despite Woods having designed only two courses in the area compared to Nicklaus’ six, the El Cardonal course stands as an impressive feat. Set amidst stunning scenery that includes dunes, desert, and arroyos, this course is regarded as one of the most challenging in all of Cabo San Lucas. And with its remarkable views of the Pacific Ocean and the signature amenities of Diamante, El Cardonal stands as a testament to its creator’s design acumen and passion for the game.

Puerto Los Cabos Golf Club
Puerto Los Cabos, located in Mexico, opened its doors to golf enthusiasts in 2007, offering a unique experience that blended two iconic golfers’ styles.
Greg Norman’s nine-hole Mission Course was designed to feature stunning views of the coastline, including the breathtaking 213-yard 6th hole, with an elevated tee box that provides golfers with the equivalent of a 10-story view of the landscape.
Jack Nicklaus designed the other nine-hole Ocean Course, which offered golfers a challenging experience. The plan had always been to expand each of these courses into its 18-hole counterparts, a plan that came into effect in 2018 when Nicklaus designed his second nine-hole layout, fondly referred to as Nicklaus II. The addition was a result of the collaboration between the two golfers and has further enhanced the fantastic experience at Puerto Los Cabos.
Like Palmilla, Puerto Los Cabos is now allowing golfers to create their own 18-hole experience by mixing and matching from the 27 holes available because no announcement has been made about Norman’s second nine yet.
